Aftercare

Instructions:

1.Cleaning:

Gently cleanse the tattooed area using mild, fragrance-free soap and lukewarm water- we recommend an antibacterial wash to help prevent infection. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh cleansers. Pat the area dry with a clean, soft towel or let it air dry.

2.Moisturising:

Apply a thin layer of recommended aftercare ointment or moisturiser to the tattooed area.

Use clean hands or a disposable applicator to avoid introducing bacteria.

Repeat this process 2-3 times a day or as directed by your practitioner.

Apply a disposable breast pad or sanitary pad to the inside of your bra to avoid your new nipple tattoo from sticking or rubbing on your clothes. Ensure you are checking that your new tattoo isn’t getting stuck to the breast pad/liner.

3.Avoid Irritants:

Avoid exposing the tattooed area to direct sunlight, tanning beds, or excessive heat.

Refrain from swimming in pools, hot tubs, or saunas until the tattoo is fully healed. Talk to your tattooist to see if they recommend second skin if you need to use a swimming pool.

Avoid scratching or picking at the tattooed area to prevent infection or scarring.

4.Clothing:

Wear loose, breathable clothing to minimise friction and allow the tattoo to breathe.

Avoid wearing tight bras or clothing that may rub against the tattooed area.

5.Hygiene:

Maintain good personal hygiene during the healing process.

Avoid touching the tattooed area with dirty hands or other potentially contaminated objects.

Wash your hands thoroughly before applying any aftercare products or touching the tattoo.

6.Healing Process:

Expect the tattooed area to go through different stages of healing, including scabbing, peeling, and color fading. Itching is a normal part of the healing process; however, avoid scratching to prevent infection. Do not panic if the tattoo appears darker or lighter during the healing period. It will settle into the desired color over time.

Follow-up Appointments:

Schedule any necessary follow-up appointments or touch-ups. We recommend 6-8 weeks after the first session to book your followup. Seek professional advice if you experience prolonged pain, excessive redness, swelling, or signs of infection.

Disclaimer: This aftercare form provides general guidelines for post-treatment care. It is essential to follow these guidelines to ensure proper healing of your paramedical nipple tattoo.
